Bhakta Kannappa Gurukulam for chenchu boys.
We had around 20 chenchu boys when started in the year 1999 and gradually increase above 50 boys with in the span of 10 years and created lot of confidence and awareness in the chenchu community towards the education of the children.
Project basics
* - To provide general and vocational education required for life
* - To inculcate the basic level of ambition in boys to enable them to integrate in to the national mainstream as they grow
* - To provide environments so as to enable them to grow as good citizens with leadership qualities so that they become the hub of development in their Goodas tomorrow.
Present situation
At present in academic year (2009-10) we have 54 boys (previous years - 04-05 : 39 boys, 05-06 : 50 boys, 06-07 : 55 boys, 07-09 : 52 boys) residing in Gurukulam. These boys are of the 5 to 14 years old age. Around 35 boys are studying in Primary school and rest are in the secondary educaiton right till 10standared. The total expenses for food, shelter and education are given free of cost for the chenchu boys totally with the help of the donors only.
